Moved here recently and already killed a battery, feeling frustrated**
Been in Sharjah for about eight months now, brought my car with me from the UK, and I just had to replace my first battery here which never happened in five years back home. Was totally caught off guard because the car was fine one day and then the next morning it was completely dead, no warning, no slow cranking, just nothing. Took it to a shop in Industrial Area and the guy explained that the heat here is brutal on batteries, especially ones that aren't designed for this climate. He showed me some corrosion and swelling on the old battery that I never would have noticed myself. Been trying to educate myself so this doesn't keep happening and found a site where I can Learn more about battery issues in hot climates and it's honestly eye opening. Apparently heat causes fluid evaporation and internal damage way faster than cold weather does, plus the constant AC use puts extra strain on everything. Wish someone had told me this when I first arrived, would have been more prepared. Anyone else from cooler countries deal with this learning curve? How often do you guys replace batteries here compared to back home? Trying to figure out if this is just normal or if I got unlucky.
