Bombay (now Mumbai) suffered a series of serial bombings in 1993. Dutt was among several people associated with Bollywood who were accused of involvement. It was alleged that Dutt accepted delivery of weapons at his house from Abu Salem and co-accused Riyaz Siddiqui, who had also been implicated in relation to the Mumbai blasts.[22] It was claimed that the weapons formed a part of a large consignment of arms connected to the terrorists.[23] Dutt, however, in his confession stated that he took only one Type-56 from the producers of his movie Sanam, for his own family protection.[24] It has also been reported that Sanjay Dutt's father Sunil Dutt's political rivalry caused Sanjay Dutt's conviction.[25] Dutt's first film after his 1993 arrest was Daud (1997). It did average business at the box office despite getting a lot of publicity.[26] This was followed by Dushman which did well financially.[27]

The sequel of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai was released on 1 September 2006, for which Dutt received a number of awards, along with an award from the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his work in the Munna Bhai series.[33] NDTV India counted the character Munna Bhai as one of top 20 fictional characters in Bollywood.[34] Later Dutt starred in movies like Dhamaal (2007), Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007), All the Best (2009), Double Dhamaal (2011), Son of Sardaar (2012) Agneepath (2012) and PK.[35]

Salman Khan is one of the most admired Indian actors who has been in the movie industry for close to three and a half decades. The actor has given many memorable films in the course of his career, like Hum Aapke Hai Koun, Biwi No. 1, Dabangg, Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan among others. The actor has always believed in supporting his colleagues from the movie industry. Recently, the actor shot for his bit in Megastar Chiranjeevi's film Godfather, which released in theatres yesterday, that is on the 5th of October.

With an ensemble cast featuring Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Koli - comedy was well spread throughout the film. A movie based on love, happiness, and family ties and all that comes to the surface with a wedding taking place was a complete entertainer. A killer playlist and hilarious situations made this one of the finest comedy films to have come out of Bollywood last year.

If you're looking for a no-brainer, commercial potboiler comedy, Simmba is the way to go. You can leave your brain and basic logic behind, to sit and enjoy a movie filled with action, comedy and melodrama. The movie centers around corrupt cop Sangram, played by Ranveer Singh who does nothing by the book. However, one crime hits home and completely changes his attitude. How he deals with the situation, is a comedic ride with funny dialogues, over-dramatic action sequences and whistle-worthy songs. An action comedy one must watch.

If you're in the mood for some good-old horror, comedy- Bhool Bhulaiyaa is definitely the way to go. Unlike typical comedy movies in Bollywood, this film has a strong and gripping storyline with humor scattered around it. The story revolves around Vidya Balan who returns to her ancestral home in her superstitious town with her husband. Eventually, things start to go wrong, and they call Akshay Kumar to take care of the problem, and of course, a series of comedic chaos ensues.

An out-and-out entertainer, this classic comedy follows the tried and tested formula of a family entertainer with slap-stick dialogues and good music and acting. The story follows the journey of twin brothers, and the comedic disarray caused by some miscommunication. Anil Kapoor has amazing comedic timing throughout and the rest of the ensemble cast also does a great job. Despite the slightly overdone melodrama, a staple in comedy movies in Bollywood, the film is a must-watch for the moments that will truly have you rolling on the floor in laughter!

Salman did the maximum cameos in early 2000s too. Some were to honour bonds of friendships, others were to keep him in the spotlight. But Salman was still far from the superstardom he enjoys today. And the stuff he was doing only impressed a select fan base. On the way, he tried ensemble Salaam-e-Ishq, Hollywood movie Marigold and even hosted 10 Ka Dum on television. No doubt Salman was a bonafide star of Bollywood, but he was still away from the stratospheric success of today.
